Scientific and Technical Advisor of France Embassy in Iran along with his delegation met with SBMUS Manager of International Advancement and Vice-Chancellor in International Affairs

Monday November 2, 2015, SBMUS Vice-Chancellor in International Affairs hosted Mr. Jean Pierre Andre Loute, Scientific and Technical Advisor of France Embassy in Iran, Dr. Didier Hossein, Medical Advisor and the International Relations Representative of Paris Public Hospital and Dr. Micheal Peri, Director of that hospital. They met with Dr. Gharehbaghian, SBMUS Manager of International Advancement, Dr. Azimi, Head of the Nursing Office in Treatment Deputy, and Ms. Vatan Parvar, staff of SBMUS International Affairs. This meeting was held at the SBMUS Vice-Chancellor Office.

First, Dr. Ghareh Baghian extended his warm welcome to Mr. Andre Loute and his delegation and thanked him for his cooperation in training SBMUS faculty members during short term educational courses and programs in France. Afterwards, he gave a brief overview of the university referring to its capabilities, educational, research, health and treatment facilities and possibilities.

Then, Dr. Hossein having thanked him for his thorough introduction upon university activities which provided the French team with a clear view about university, referred to their interest in developing a collaborative ground between the two parties in terms of forging strong links between universities and hospitals in Paris and the SBMUS, as well as exchanging knowledge and professional experience in the field of Emergency Medicine, Special and rare diseases, nursing issues, providing geriatrics health services and of course Hospital Management. 

Afterwards, according to the area of interest of the French team,
Dr.Gharehbaghian continued the meeting with some more specific information and statistics presented by Dr.Azimi. Ultimately, upon agreement of the French team, they decided to schedule a special time to visit one of the SBMUS training hospitals in Tehran.

In the end, both parties agreed to prepare a memorandum of understanding regarding this collaboration to be studied and approved by SBMUS and signed by both teams. 

This MOU is going to cover short term courses and programs for the SBMUS faculty members in Paris hospitals, joint clinical research studies, benefiting from professional experience of the French team in evaluation and assessment of the SBMUS healthcare centers and hospitals.
